Federico Subervi, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Department of Communication Studies, Pace University, New York, NY

Federico Subervi has an extensive background in Hispanic markets and communications.  Prior to joining Pace, Professor Subervi was an associate professor and graduate advisor in the Department of Radio-TV-Film at the University of Texas. He has held positions in university communication departments throughout the country, and has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, reviews and other academic publications.

 

Brenda C. Mendoza, Senior Communications Specialist, Kaiser Permanente; President, Hispanic Public Relations Association, Los Angeles, CA

Brenda Mendoza handles internal and external communications, primarily media relations and employee communicaitons. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, she worked extensively with the Hispanic market at prominent PR agencies including Hill and Knowlton and Valencia, Pérez & Echeveste. Mendoza is the current president of the Hispanic Public Relations Association.

 

Elena del Valle, MBA, JD President, LNA World Communications and President, Hispanic Marketing and Communications Assoc, Miami, FL

Elena del Valle is an 18-year marketing and public relations veteran who has worked extensively with U.S. and international Hispanic markets. Prior to founding her own marketing and public relations firm six years ago, she headed the US Hispanic market practice at the largest independent public relations firm in Florida. She is also president of the Hispanic Marketing & Communications Association and a past chair of the Multicultural Communications Section.

 

Manuel Ruiz, President/CEO, Hispanic PR Wire, Miami, FL (moderator)

Manny Ruiz is the founding President,CEO of Hispanic PR Wire, the nation’s premier news distribution service reaching US Hispanic media and opinion leaders. Prior to launching HPRW, Manny was co-founder, media relations director and chief media trainer of the National Hispanic Market Practice of Porter Novelli. Prior to joining PN, Ruiz was a media relations specialist with Ketchum Public Relations Worldwide Miami where he primarily conducted Hispanic and Pan-regional media outreach.
